Darin Wagner Position: President, CEO & Director Mr. Wagner is a Professional Geologist with 20 years of exploration and corporate development experience. Mr. Wagner spent the first 10 years of his career with two of Canada's largest and most successful exploration and mining companies (Noranda (now Xstrata) and Cominco (now Teck)) as a project geologist and manager in North and South America. In 1999 Mr. Wagner became Vice-President, Exploration for New Millennium Metals Corp. which was successfully merged with Platinum Group Metals Ltd. in 2002. Mr. Wagner served as Exploration Manager for TSX listed Platinum Group Metals through the acquisition, discovery and initial delineation of the multi-million ounce West Bushveld PGE deposit in South Africa. Mr. Wagner became President of Sydney Resource Corp., in September 2005 and helped engineer the successful merger between Sydney and Band Ore Resources to form West Timmins Mining Inc. in 2006. He then served as a President, CEO, Director and Qualified Person for West Timmins Mining through the discovery of the high-grade Thunder Creek Gold Zone in Timmins, Ontario and the acquisition of West Timmins by Lake Shore Gold in an all share deal valued at $424 million which was completed in November of 2009. Mr. Wagner currently serves as a director of Druk Capital Partners and as a technical and/or corporate advisor to several other publically listed resource companies including MAG Silver Corp., Abzu Gold Ltd. and Metals Creek Resources Corp. In addition to his duties with Balmoral Mr. Wagner currently serves on the Board of Directors of Castle Mountain Mining. | |
Peggy Wu Position: Chief Financial Officer Ms. Wu has served as an advisor to the Company on financial matters since 2011. She is a Chartered Accountant with strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards, Canadian and US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and public company reporting requirements. She is currently the CFO for Indico Resources Ltd. and Corvus Gold Inc., resource based companies listed on the TSXV and TSX. Ms. Wu's previous experience includes acting as Financial Reporting Specialist for a number of resource based companies including Balmoral. As well, she served as Supervisor at Smythe Ratcliffe LLP, Chartered Accountants from 2007 to 2010, where she oversaw all aspects of financial reporting for several publicly traded companies. | |
Sue Chipperfield Position: Corporate Secretary Mrs. Chipperfield joins the Company from West Timmins Mining Inc. where she served in the role of Executive Assistant to the President. She was responsible for regulatory filings, compliance and office administration for the Company from May, 2008 until its acquisition by Lake Shore Gold in a deal valued at $424 million which was completed in November of 2009. Prior to that, Mrs. Chipperfield worked for Gitennes Exploration Inc., a TSX-V listed junior exploration company, for 5 years in a similar capacity. | |
Richard Mann Position: Vice President, Exploration He has over 12 years experience in the mineral exploration industry and until recently worked for Barrick Gold Corporation, where he was Senior Geologist leading exploration efforts on and around the world-class Porgera gold deposit in Papua New Guinea. Prior to working at Porgera, Mr. Mann was a key component of Barrick Gold's Canadian project development and exploration team for five years and held exploration positions in Canada with Cominco Ltd. and the Hope Bay/Miramar joint venture. Mr. Mann will assume responsibility for day to day management of Balmoral's exploration programs in Quebec and Ontario and join the Company's project evaluations team. | |
John Toporowski Position: Manager, Corporate Development Mr. Toporowski was most recently associated with West Timmins Mining Inc. (WTM), where he was responsible for increasing awareness of the company in the investment community. WTM became part of Lake Shore Gold in a share exchange transaction which valued the company at $424 million in November 2009. Since 1990, Mr. Toporowski has held investor relations positions with a number of successful exploration, development and mining companies including New Canamin (Huckleberry Mine), Callinan Mines (Callinan Mine), Tan Range Exploration (now Tanzanian Royalty) and New Millenium Metals (merged with Platinum Group Metals). In the 1980's, he joined the principals of the 'Breakwater Group' and assisted in the promotion of Pecos Resources and Granges. During the 1970's, Mr. Toporowski was part of his family's business which provided specialized engineering, construction and metallurgical services to start up heap leach companies, most notably to Pegasus Gold, a recognized leader and innovator in the heap leaching industry. Mr. Toporowski will maintain and continue to expand BAR's presence in the retail and institutional investor community. |
